Audi R8 MTM CHROME

2011 Audi R8 5.2 FSI MTM Biturbo Car Reviews & Specs

by Benjamin Greene

This chrome creation took 700 man-hours of polishing to create. That’s nearly 30 days. Or three months of eight-hour work days. Of polishing. We don’t even know if OSHA would be okay with those work conditions. But besides a car that can blind other motorists, the MTM Biturbo package for the Audi R8 5.2 FSI V-10 is pretty remarkable. It produces a stout 766 hp and estimates have it running 0–62 mph in approximately three seconds, 124 mph in 9.4 seconds, and 186 mph in 19.4 seconds. But MTM is more worried about the car’s top speed. An RS6 with the same engine producing only 740 hp hit a top speed of 225 mph on the high-speed track in Nardo in South Italy. MTM is confident the R8 can pull off a similar feat.

Other modifications include MTM adjustable coil overs, 20-inch forged rims in the Bimoto design, and MTM 15-inch brakes dimpled with eight-piston calipers at the front and rear. An adjustable rear spoiler and a front lip made of carbon fiber improve the car’s high-speed stability.
